Design, Establish & Maintain
A blend of landscape design and ecological thinking. We listen to your land, your needs, and your budget — then create garden rooms that belong.

Beautiful, organic garden spaces grown from forty years of scholarship, patience, and a deep love for the natural world.

Our Philosophy
For over forty years, Wendi Gale has been listening to the land and the people who love it.
Good garden work isn't a product to be delivered. It's a relationship — between designer, customer, team, and the land itself, tended with care over time.
We cultivate, encourage, and strengthen biophilia — the innate, tender bond between people and the living world — through thoughtful garden design, inviting pollinators and critters, and teaching botanical health.
What We Believe
Biophilia is defined as the innate, genetically determined tendency of human beings to seek connections and interact closely with nature. We design sustainable gardens that nurture this connection: places where the earth, flora, and fauna are cared for. Here, stress softens and something essential comes back to life.
Our social mission, Second Growth, offers people honest work, real skills, a caring community, living wages, and generous benefits. Every garden grows somebody, too. Our family is a dedicated team who have worked together for many years. They encourage one another to be the best people they can be, living a life with integrity and honor.
Our customers and vendors become part of the Land Stewards family. We build personal, lasting relationships — exchanging expertise with our vendors, collaborating with community organizations on philanthropic projects, and helping our customers, season by season, become confident stewards of their own land.
What We Do

A blend of landscape design and ecological thinking. We listen to your land, your needs, and your budget — then create garden rooms that belong.

Waterfalls, creek beds, ponds, and bog plantings that connect you with nature while quietly solving drainage problems.

Bring beauty and utility to your garden space with structures like stone walls, benches, arbors, fences, and more. We encourage you to bring artwork into the garden.
